| honestly? the M4 in 1.6 has to e the best gun ever except for the awp. but in source, somehow the ak gets a shitload better and is about the same / better than the M4a1. (again the awp still pwnz all ^_^)

|  I HATE how unreallistic every game is. when you go in water and get out the M4A1 is NOT supposed to be operational, unlike that AK47. The AK47 has it's popularity becuse of it's simple yet extremely durable design and is said to take almost any substance and still work, unlike the M4A1 that is why i pick the AK47.

| this is a tough question. The M4 has silencer abilities, for more tactical missions, but is slightly less accurate and powerful when silenced.
Although, silneced or not, one headshot won't kill... about 4-5 chest shots will kill. The AK is one of the loudest firing guns, and it isn't as accurate as the M4, and it can't be silenced.
But one headshot is instant kill regardless of anything. It really depends on which map you're on. If you're on a map that requires shooting over long distances or requires severe tactical skills, then go with the M4, otherwise everything else go AK.

for stealth: M4a1 > Ak47 (durr) the silencer on the M4a1 makes it lose like 5-10 damage per shot, and either way (silenced or not) its not 4-5 shots in the chest to kill, its like 2-3. the stomach takes 4, and 2 shots for the head( around 75 dmg per hit with armor) Ak47 is better for power, its about 4 shots to the stomach (the opponent will still barely survive after 3rd) and one shot to the head AT LESS THAN 300m (yea, the game calculates this) anyway, if you think you can hit the head on the first / 2nd shot, go with the Ak47 (or if you're good at spraying/praying). if you think you need a little more stealth, try the M4a1. of course there's exceptions, and the map matters, but this is just to help a bit.

| Gotta say, AK47 is a better gun for me!! Even though M4A1 is more accurate. The only reason why AK47 is better is because I need a gun that is more powerful and will kill people, as less shots to kill a person means less recoil so the recoil of the guns evens out, but still the power overbeats anything especially if you aim as fast as me. AND RECOIL IS BETTER IN SOURCE BECUASE IT IS LESS REALISTIC.
I have played source and tell you what, the recoil in it just sucks, it is not realistic, the recoil is barely their. In really guns if you ever shot from them like me.... Recoil is real and their is alot of it especially in AUTOMATIC WEAPONS, for the fact is when your barrel shoots quick firing, first of you do not get same power, plus your barrel and piston that shoots it out heats up. The heat and the power creates a so what called turbulance which makes the bullet turn a different way therefore calling it RECOIL.
Thats a simple explanation of what recoil is how it works, and how realistic recoil really is in 1.6 unlike source.

| heh, ya i gotta agree with you there val. but i do have to say, in real life, unless you really can't can't hold your gun properly, it wouldn't spray all over the place like that. but ea, in source they went a little over board on it, making your player looks like the fucking punisher or something xD actually, somewhere on the internet, it shows a comparison between the two games' recoils and it only differs by like 5 - 10 percent o_O. maybe their explanation is that the player actually uses the gun stock :/ Added (2008-09-25, 0:38 Am)
